Hardware End of Life Verifone Tranz and Omni SeriesEffective
immediately, VeriFone will no longer manufacture new Tranz and Omni series
terminals. MERCHANT SERVICES STORE
will continue to support and stock the Vx510 and Vx510LE terminals, but these
terminals will no longer carry the co-branded Omni 3730 name. You can still order the Vx510 and
Vx510LE – but they will now be known only as the Vx name- Vx510LE &
Vx510.
Below is a grid showing
the VeriFone terminals that are currently designated as EOL that will no longer
be manufactured as new POS terminals:
This EOL notification applies to all of
the above for NEW HARDWARE SALES only. We will continue to support these
terminals and will maintain our practice of reprogramming devices out in the
field. MERCHANT SERVICES
STORE will also provide boarding of new merchants on all of the above terminals
except the Tranz T420, which was previously designated as EOL due to
non-compliant application support. Because the Omni 3740/50 terminals are not
PCI compliant, any reprogrammed terminal must use the external Hypercom PV1310
or the VeriFone PP1000SE PINPads for on-line debit transactions. What does this mean for Existing
Merchants? Merchants that are currently using any
of the End of Life terminals above will be able to continue to process without
interruption, and these merchants will continue to be supported by our technical
helpdesk.
Can I still purchase NEW terminals
today? No. VeriFone is no longer manufacturing
these terminals. Some refurbished
devices might be available from MERCHANT SERVICES STORE Select or other
sources. But, there will not be any
more new Tranz or Omni 3xxx units manufactured - as outlined in the matrix
above. How will MERCHANT
SERVICES STORE handle new merchant boarding? The MERCHANT SERVICES
STORE Operations team will continue to build downloads for these terminal types
(T420 remains as an exception). MERCHANT SERVICES STORE will continue to provide
technical helpdesk support on these terminals and will only be utilizing the
most current Class A matrix applications for future support
How will PIN based
debit work with the any warranty upgrades? Any merchant that is
processing on-line debit using an internal pin pad MUST use a PCI compliant
PINPad. Since the Omni 3740/3750
terminals do not have an internal PCI compliant PINPad, a PCI compliant external
PINPad must be purchased if the merchant wants to continue processing on-line
debit. The compliant external
PINPads are the Hypercom PV1310 and the VeriFone PP1000SE.
Can I still lease any
Tranz or Omni 3xxx terminals? Any new merchants that
wish to lease the T330/380/460 or the Omni 3200/3210/3740/3750/3730/3730LE
should only lease the Recommended Replacement Model identified below or another
appropriate terminal that is on MERCHANT SERVICES STORE’s Class A Matrix. Merchants wishing to purchase
refurbished T330/380/460 devices may still do so at this time.
Please refer to the below
grid regarding the recommended new terminal models that will replace terminals
that will no longer be manufactured:
